Épices Rœllinger Cave À Vanilles (“vanilla Cellar”)<Réunion Island Vanilla Bean

To prepare a vanilla-scented warm milk:
Cut off 2 cm (1/2 inch) of a vanilla bean, split the piece in half lengthwise with a small, sharp knife and scrape out the seeds with the back of the knife. Add both the scraped pod and the seeds to 1 cup of whole milk in a saucepan, and bring to a simmer. Remove from heat, and let infuse 15 minutes. Reheat gently if necessary before serving.

This vanilla bean from Reunion Island is delicate and sweet.

It is grown and cured to perfection by a master vanilla curer in the French department. We especially like to use it in a vanilla-scented warm milk, a treat beloved since childhood.
